Bolingbrook Mall - Chicago, Illinois

The Promenade Bolingbrook is a unique outdoor shopping and dinning destination with over 65 shops and restaurants. The Promenade is known as the downtown of Bolingbrook with store front parking and quaint streets to stroll upon. The center is anchored by Macy’s, Bass Pro Shops, Barnes & Noble and Gold Class Cinemas.

Safety Technologies was retained to design, project manage, and install the CCTV & Access Control systems for this project.  The scope of the project entaileed complete CCTV surveillance for the indoor common areas and exterior parking and entrances for this urban shopping center.  Our Access Control system secures the employee areas of the facility.  We also provided design and wiring capabilities for a future Emergency Duress System to be installed in the parking garages.

The desgn of this state-of-the art system does not require a manned 24/7 control center eliminating the need for an elaborate console. The camera system can be viewed from authorized computers via the internet.

This project encompassed expanding an existing CCTV Camera system at their main Cleveland facility on Darrow Road.  Our project's Scope included adding 48 new cameras and a 128 Channel DVR.  One of the primary goals of this project was to clean up the previoud equipment rack and wiring installation to conform with Safety Technologie's installation standards.  Through great planning and execution, we were able to expand the system, re-work the equipment racks, and install a new Video Recording solution with minmal downtime for the existing system.

Our client was so happy with our company's performance they had this to say:

“Michael and his company are top-notch professionals and they are incredibly knowledgeable in their field. I would use them again and definitely recommend Michael to anyone looking for A/V or CCTV services and products.” – Walt Pawlak, Facility Manager, Rockwell Automation

The Avenue at Tower City Center

Tower City Center is located in the heart of downtown Cleveland. The retail center houses three levels of shops and eateries, as well as fine restaurants and two world-class hotels. The center is connected via a pedestrian walkway to Quicken Loans Arena, home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Indians.

This project was one of our most ambitious CCTV Surveillance System installations.  The existing system was over 13 years old and had been added onto by numerous different vendors over the years.  The Command Center was the scene of a "rats nest" of wiring piled behind a wood and formica console.  The existing system consisted of several local Digital Video Recorders located throughout the facility's various buildings.

The first assignment for Safety Technologies was to create a System Design for the new CCTV System. The new system design utilized a state-of-the-art Networked Video Storage system effectively securing all recorded data in the Command Center. Additionally, all cameras and data can be viewed by authorized personnel from their computers. The toughest challenge involved replacing the Command Center Console while leaving their CCTV system operational as much as possible.  Our team of talented technicians literally removed a section of the old console at a time with a saws-all! Mission accomplished!

CCTV Control Center Renovation

This challenging CCTV project is a testiment to Safety Technologies design, project manageOld Tower City Consolement, and installation capabilities.

The scope of the project involved a complete renovation of the Control Center for a office building/mall security office.  The CCTV surveillance systems at the mall and office complex had been added on to numerous times over the span of 13 years.  Several security companies had done the work. The result was an antiquated Security Console featuring several separate video recording systems.  Officers would literally have to access two or more separate CCTV systems to view cameras located in the same area of the mall.Security was further compromised by having the video storage units located in various unsecure locations throughout the mall.                                                                            Old Command Center

The goal was to incorporate an enterprise level Network Video Server while utilizing the various existing cameras.  To add to the challenge, the console and CCTV system had to remain in service during the renovation.  We literally used a saws-all removing one section of the console at a time!

Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Corrections

Safety Technologies was selected as the sole provider for Personal Duress Systems for the Adult Prison facilities located in the state of Ohio.  The project involved the design, installation, and service of SpiderAlert Man-down systems for 30 institutions, spanning 10 years and more than $25M.  Safety Technologies originally won the contract over numerous competing manufacturers and contractors.  Our high installation standards, exceptional service, and ability to manage large scale projects in a prison environment resulted in our sole provider status.

The scope of these projects called for the installation of a Visonics SpiderAlert System capable of identifying a corrections officer or staff member's identity and exact location within the institution when their Personal Emergency transmitter is activated.

Beginning in 2010, Safety Technologies will begin a multi-million project installing solar-powered SpiderAlert Receivers in the outdoor yard areas for the Adult institutions.

Our success is best stated by this excerpt from a reference letter written by the Project Manager for the project:

"We are extremely pleased with the Spider Alert System as evidenced by our decision to install them in all of our Adult Prisons. The system has provided the protection for our staff as designed and has proven to be very dependable in operation.

Safety Technologies has demonstrated their commitment to quality installation standards and professionalism in every thing they do. Their craftsmanship in the wiring installation is as good as I have seen. They start and finish all of their projects on schedule, keeping their crews on the job until complete.

In my capacity as Project Manager, I have never had to fail a final inspection on any of their installations. When problems do arise, Safety Technologies has responded with a “what ever it takes” attitude to make it right."

Norman Lowell Gallery - Anchor Point, Alaska
Norman Lowell Art Gallery
Homer, Alaska

This project is unique in that it is in Anchor Point, Alaska! You might ask how a N.E. Ohio Security Integrator came to design and install CCTV and Security/Fire systems in Alaska.  Our owner, Michael Pope, met Norman Lowell while touring his gallery during a fishing trip to Homer, Alaska.  Norman homesteaded his property and has been painting beautiful Alaskan landscapes for over 50 years. Over the course of several years, Michael became not only a big fan of Norman's work but they also became friends. As a friend, Michael was very concerned that Norman's life work was located in a building that had no security nor fire protection in it. After mentioning his concerns to Norman, it was agreed that Safety Technologies would design and install a integrated fire & security system on the next year's trip.

Safety Technologies designed the system in the months preceding the June trip.  In June, Michael, Dan Sexton, V.P. of Operations, and a select crew of technicians installed a comprehensive CCTV Surveillance, Security, and Fire alarm system.  Bonus...everyone also brought back some of the best fish on the planet...and art work!
